Selected Excerpts
Below are short excerpts from a variety of my music. These works represent a range of styles, genres and instrumentations as I believe a musical setting of The Englishman's Boy lies somewhere between a musical and an opera. I imagine a work that is primarily sung but still has clear songs and arias and the musical language will blend orchestral writing with period pieces and jazz. The work of Sondheim (Sunday in the Park, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd) as well as West Side Story, Porgy and Bess and La Bohème are all touchstones for me.
